Outpatient Clinic
@ LBJ
The division of geriatric and palliative medicine has outpatient clinics at Memorial Hermann Hospital and Lyndon B. Johnson General Hospital.
UT geriatric outpatient clinic provides comprehensive primary care for older people. Additionally, subspecialists and internists/general practitioners can also request a consult for specific geriatric issues.
In addition to managing patients with complicated medical histories, geriatricians are trained to diagnose and treat conditions that are common in older people, such as
- Difficulties with memory
- Urinary tract disorders
- Decreasing physical function
- Fluctuations in mood
- Sleep and appetite disorders
- Palliative Care
- Wound Care
- Medication reviews
- Preventive screenings and immunizations
- Help with linking seniors with local services
Our clinic offers multidisciplinary treatment plans. Our lab is on-site and imaging is nearby.
The LBJ clinic is staffed by Dr. John Halphen and a geriatric trained nurse practitioner, Susan Gorman.
