The division offers inpatient consultation services at Memorial Hermann Hospital and Lyndon B. Johnson General Hospital. The consult service cares for geriatric patients on other surgical and medical subspecialty services. They help manage both medical issues related to the older patient's care as well as geriatric issues, such as
- Delirium and dementia evaluation
- Polypharmacy
- Functional decline
- Functional falls
- Failure to thrive/malnutrition
- Elder abuse
- Pre-operative evaluations / post-operative medical management
The consult service is run by Dr. Kathryn Agarwal at Memorial Hermann.
