M.D. Degree: University of Missouri at Kansas City. Residency and Fellowship at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology and is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology and Transplant Hepatology
Dr. LeSage completed additional research training with a National Institute of Health (NIH) sponsored training grant at the Mayo Clinic. Thereafter, he became Director of Hepatology at Scott and White Clinic and Texas A & M University College of Medicine. Dr. LeSage is responsible for building both clinical and research programs in Hepatology for Scott and White Clinic/ Texas A&M University College of Medicine. Dr. LeSage joined UTHHSC May 2002, as Director of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition.
Research Interest: Cholangiocytes, transport, and bile duct injury.

Dr. Botero organized and developed the Hepatology and Liver Transplant Program at Fundacion Santa Fe de Bogota, Bogota, Colombia from 1984 to 2000 and, prior to returning to the US in 2002, he became the Medical Director of The Cardio-Infantil Foundation in Bogota, Colombia. Dr. Botero was Professor of Medicine at University of Wisconsin, Madison, WI, prior to his present position. He joined UTHHSC in July 2003, as Director of Hepatology and Medical Director of The Liver Transplant Program and Texas Liver Center.
Research Interests: Viral hepatitis, TIPS, Acute Liver Failure and Liver Transplantation.

Cinda
H. Clark, DSN, RN, CNS-M-S, Assistant Professor of Medicine, Advance Practice Nurse in Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at The University of Texas Health Science Center Houston Medical School, was first to earn a Doctor of Science in Nursing degree from The University of Texas at Houston School of Nursing. Dr. Clark received her RN degree from Carlow College in Pittsburgh, PA, where she worked as an intensive care/coronary care staff nurse, critical care nursing instructor, clinical research nurse, and faculty/clinical instructor. Currently, her practice and research is primarily with hepatitis C patients.
