Madelene J. Ottosen

Madelene J. Ottosen, MSN, RN

is the Program Manager of the UT Houston-Memorial Hermann Center for Healthcare Quality and Safety. Since 1993 she has assisted in the conduct and oversight of a wide range of clinical research projects across multiple disciplines and patient populations at UT Health. She has extensive experience in training study management practices including budget and billing, Good Clinical Practice principles and human subjects protection and is actively involved in the professional development of the specialty of clinical research nursing practice. Beyond clinical research, her clinical experience has been grounded in the care of cardiovascular patients having received her MSN as a Cardiovascular Clinical Nurse Specialist. Her current research interests lie in methods of symptom identification and management within the heart failure population as a means of preventing readmission rates. Currently, she is pursuing her PhD program at UT School of Nursing.
