Mano S. Selvan, PhD
is a Clinical Informaticist at the Information Systems Division, Memorial Hermann Healthcare System, Houston, Texas 77074. She also has an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the School of Health Information Sciences in The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and a member of the UT Houston-Memorial Hermann Center for Healthcare Quality and Safety. Her educational background is composed of biostatistics, epidemiology, healthcare quality improvement research and behavioral science. Dr. Selvan's research interests center on the design and development of projects focusing on healthcare quality improvement, effectiveness, patient safety, and clinical outcomes. Much of her current work centers around leading projects focusing on evaluation and outcomes of clinical information technology interventions, effective management strategies, pay for performance and evidence-based healthcare projects and their impact on clinical and cost outcomes. In addition to Dr. Selvan's interest is to study risk factors for adverse events and incorporate them into clinical decision support system and improve these information technology interventions.
