Project Description

UT Health School of Biomedical Informatics was recently awarded $15.3 million to establish the Gulf Coast Regional Extension Center (GCREC).  The GCREC will establish a comprehensive program for southeast Texas in collaboration with statewide physician, nursing, vendor, and hospital leaders.  Dr. Sittig will lead the Meaningful Use and Vendor Quality Management portion of the project.

Progress and Outcomes

The Texas GulfCoast HIT Extension Center has enrolled over 700 physicians who are on their way toward obtaining meaningful use.
