Laboratory of Georgene Hergenroeder, BSN MHA RN CCRC

The Hergenroeder lab conducts clinical and translational research. Vivian L. Smith Neurosciences Research Repository team members collect clinical samples and data with which we perform collaborative research in the hope of advancing scientific discovery to improve patient care. We follow patients with neurological conditions from onset at initial Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center (MH-TMC) hospitalization or Mischer Neuroscience Associates clinic visit through MHH/TIRR rehabilitation and/or clinic follow-up. Patients or families may meet with our Genetic Counselor to enhance their understanding of the risks associated with or genetic consequences of their condition.

Additionally, we have ongoing interventional studies and projects evaluating protein and molecular markers in brain and spinal cord injury, aneurysm, tumor and donors.

The Hergenroeder lab is funded by grants from the Vivian L. Smith Foundation, Mission Connect/TIRR Foundation, the Department of Defense, and the Department of Health and Human Services Health Resources and Services Administration.
