As we teach students and residents to provide excellent patient care, our focus is on evidence based medicine, patient centered care and helping our patients grow and develop within their family and community.
The Division of Community and General Pediatrics provides the majority of student teaching in pediatrics at its many inpatient and outpatient locations. Our focus as we teach students and residents to provide excellent patient care is on evidence based medicine, patient centered care and helping our patients grow and develop within their family and community.
We provide clinical services for inpatient general pediatric patients at Children's Memorial Hermann and Lyndon Baines Johnson (LBJ) Hospitals. We also provide care at Healthbridge and Shriners Hospitals. Our many outpatient clinic sites provide care for pediatric patients in the surrounding communities and provide teaching sites for medical students and residents. We are involved with a variety of clinical research projects including immunizations, child abuse, and other areas of clinical care.
The inpatient services are at Children’s Memorial Hermann, LBJ, Shriners and Healthbridge. Our outpatient clinics are located throughout Houston.

Research
The Community and General Pediatric Division faculty in UT-Houston's Department of Pediatrics have participated in a variety of research regarding immunizations, care of abused children, asthma and other general topics. The faculty are actively involved in clinical research endeavors spanning a wide range of interests.
