A Message from the Director

The Department of Pediatrics Division of Infectious Diseases' goal is to excel in every aspect of patient care, education, and research. We seek to provide the highest quality of patient care with thoughtfulness and compassion. A vital part of patient care is the education of medical students, residents, fellows, other health care professionals, and scientists, as well as parents. This portion of our mission is accomplished during daily clinical rounds, at regional, national and international conferences. The Pediatric Infectious Disease faculty strives to motivate a passion for lifelong learning through education in several different settings and through a variety of media. Finally, we are devoted to advancing the knowledge, understanding, prevention, and treatment of infectious diseases in children through translational research endeavors and discoveries.
