Immunobiology
The Department of Pediatrics at The University of Texas Medical School at Houston strives to improve the welfare of children by advancing basic and clinical science related to the development and health of infants and children.
Several resarchers in the department focus on immunologic mechanisms of disease, including molecular and cellular mediatrors of renal injury with a special emphasis on complement biology and murine model systems. These basic science laboratories laboratories are located within the Brown Foundation Institute of Molecular Medicine and offer opportunities for collaboration with investigators in the fields of nano-medicine, stem cell biology, genetics, and cardiovascular disease.
