The University of Texas Mental Sciences Institute Child, Adolescent and Family Clinic Sonja Randle, M.D., Director Assistant Professor, Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences The Child, Adolescent and Family Clinic treats patients under age 18 with a variety of behavioral and psychiatric disorders such as adjustment disorders, attention deficits, depression and mood disorders, psychosomatic problems, academic difficulties, and problems relating to physical challenges and chronic medical conditions. In addition, the Family Clinic addresses the concerns of families/couples. Individual and group psychotherapy are available, along with medication treatment. A variety of treatment modalities are used, including psychodynamic, supportive, cognitive, behavioral, and psychopharmacological interventions.
