Biography
Scott Holmes graduated
with a major in Medical
Illustration from a joint program at the Cleveland Institute of
Art and Case Western Reserve University in 1995. That same year he began
work at Medical Plastics Lab (Now Laerdal) in Gatesville, Texas. There,
he designed anatomical models, CPR manikins and simulators
such as the Neonatal Resuscitation Baby and Femoral Access Trainer as well as creating traditional illustrations for MPL's literature.
In 1997 he received his certification as an Emergency Medical Technician.
In 1999, Scott joined the Division of Immunology
and Organ Transplantation. He continues to work with a wide range
of applications including surgical
illustration, copy editing, web design, graphic design, scientific
illustration, animation and preparations of manuscripts, grants and award winning presentations and posters. In July of 2006,
the role of Director of Graphic Services for the Department of Surgery was added to his duties. In 2007 and 2008 the Departments of Pediatric Surgery as well as Pathology & Laboratory Medicine were added, respectively. 2009 marks the beginning of his work for the Center for Translational Injury Research (CeTIR).
