The Student National Medical Association (SNMA), established at Howard University in 1964, is committed to supporting current and future underrepresented minority medical students, addressing the needs of underserved communities, and increasing the number of clinically excellent, culturally competent and socially conscious physicians. The SNMA chapter here at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston is completely committed to fulfilling our national protocols. As an active member of SNMA's Region 3, we strive to improve cultural competency and social awareness, while working to address the needs of the underserved. We also provide support for current and future underrepresented minority medical students.
SNMA Lecture Series
Perspective: Enhancing the Me in Medicine Each meeting will include a speaker that will discuss some of the issues surrounding various topics. These sessions are during our meetings and we would love to have you in attendance! There are 5 sessions and various community service opportunities. To receive credit you must either attend 3 meetings plus 1 service event.
