Strategic Planning Questions for Deans & Vice Presidents

1. What is your vision for your school/department in 12 years? Vision statement may depict an “end state” or an “interim state”if your vision will take more than 12 years to accomplish. Consider major changes that would need to be implemented within the timeframe.
2. How does your vision align with the health science center's vision? Where does it conflict?
3. For Deans, what other institutions would you like to be considered peers with?
4. For Deans, how much growth do you see in the next 12 years? How will this impact infrastructure? Students? Faculty?
5. Should the Health Science Center strive to be the best at all things or focus efforts/resources in specific areas? What areas might that be?
