Objective 2
Maintain strategic relationships with health team providers

  • The health science center is to continue to engage in strategic alliances with other institutions based on mutual benefit to the mission of each institution. The health science center should continue to engage with current primary affiliates: the Memorial Hermann Healthcare System (MHHCS) and the Harris County Hospital District (HCHD). The health science center should consider other strategic alliances that have the potential to advance the institution’s mission without harming current strategic alliances.
  • The faculty practice is to seek business opportunities to enhance clinical revenues by pursuing current and future opportunities for clinical income and equity in ventures such as dialysis centers, imaging centers, pathology laboratories, and surgery centers. These ventures may be pursued alone or in conjunction with partners.
