Any patient with a measurable solid tumor, resistant to standard treatment, or who has recurrent, or metastatic disease, is eligible for treatment, in
principle . However, to actually be enrolled in a thermochemotherapy treatment protocol, the candidate will need to
have suitable results from a series of preliminary tests performed to exclude cardiac disease, establish
adequate pulmonary function, and rule out cancer metastases of the brain. Additionally, some protocols are restricted to specific cancer types:
