Wanleng Deng, Ph.D.

Dr. Deng has been a member of the Hyperthermia Laboratory since 2003. Following a B.S. degree in engineering from the Chengdu University of Science and Technology in China, she received her Master's degree in Chemistry from Minnesota State University at Mankato and gained a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of South Carolina at Columbia. After post-doctoral work at the Cleveland Clinic, Dr. Deng came to Houston in 1998 to pursue further research in the Department of Cell Biology and the Breast Center at Baylor College of Medicine. Now a Research Associate in the Division of Oncology at the University of Texas Medical School in Houston, Dr. Deng is applying her molecular biology skills to our goals of using hyperthermia to enhance gene therapy for cancer treatment.
