Bylaws
I. Purpose
The UCSC Educational Awards Committee serves to assist in the administration of the Program. The Committee is charged with the selection of students for the award(s) and maintaining the standards of the award and the processes of the program consistent with established operating procedures.
II. Committee Membership
The UCSC Educational Awards Committee will consist of an impartial committee (5 members) comprised of UCSC member(s), classified staff and other qualified members who will serve a two (2) year term. Membership shall rotate on a staggered basis with appointments made by UCSC in August of each year. A chair, and vice-chair will be elected by the members of the Committee at the first meeting.
III. Responsibility
The UCSC Educational Awards Committee shall report to the UCSC which will assist in coordinating activities. One active or ex-officio member of the UCSC shall serve as advisor to the Committee in the development of policy, procedures and in its operations.
IV. Operating Procedures
Operating procedures designed to standardize and govern the conduct of committee activities shall serve as the basic guidelines for operation by the committee. Changes to those adopted procedures may be made only by a two-thirds (2/3) majority vote of the UCSC.
V. Meetings
The
UCSC Educational Awards Committee shall meet shortly after the March submission deadline
of each year to review applications. Additional meetings will
be scheduled as needed.
VI. Bylaws Amendments
Bylaws of the UCSC Educational Awards may be amended by a two-thirds (2/3) majority vote of the UCSC. |
