POSITION SUMMARY:

Provide professional skills in effective planning, design and operation of future and existing renewable energy systems of the UTH buildings, including digital controls, instrumentation, and distributed generation.

POSITION KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. Maintains and monitors campus Renewable Energy systems, which includes maintenance of Renewable Energy data acquisition systems.
  2. Collects and compiles data from Renewable Energy data acquisition systems and building Energy Management Control Systems.
  3. Performs systems analysis of campus energy systems.  This includes the proficient use of various data acquisition software, MSWord, Excel. Calibrates electronic instruments and programs system monitoring software.
  4. Produces Photovoltaic and other Renewable Energy performance reports.
  5. Reviews and implements all planning, design, construction of on-site distributed generation (DG) at UTHSCH.
  6. Maintains UTHSCH Energy Management Plan (Resource Efficiency Plan).
  7. Gives support in Microsoft Project and Excel to Energy & Engineering Team and also maintains Energy & Engineering website using MS FrontPage and HTML.
  8. Provides support and training to other personnel as required.
  9. Other duties as assigned.
CERTIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

Skills in Photovoltaics and other Renewable Energy systems design, installation and testing.  Knowledge of data acquisition systems and instrumentation.  Advanced computer skills (MSWord, FrontPage, MS Project, Excel).  Computer hardware and networking knowledge as well as electrical and basic electronics knowledge.  Skills in computer aided design software (AutoCAD)

MINIMUM EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

4 years experience in commissioning, installing, and operating Renewable Energy systems.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
