POSITION SUMMARY:

Develops and implements programs to maximize the utilization of facility assets. Acts as a liaison between the end user and the principle processes of operations & maintenance, engineering, energy and physical safety. 

POSITION KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. Develops short and long-range facility utilization plans for UT-Houston facilities.
  2. Manages and oversees design development for remodeling or build out space with consultants and internal resources.
  3. Plans and oversees moves and maximizes use of campus-wide furniture systems standard and ensures correct code compliance. Ensures that new or remodeled office spaceare complete with appropriate phone service and furniture, also ensures that janitorial services are adequate.
  4. Acts as liaison between end-users and Facility Operation’s process including managing costs associated with maintaining UT-Houston’s buildings, furnishings and grounds.
  5. Assists with lease acquisition and/or negotiation.
  6. Develops and implements policies and building standards for external resources assisting with projects.
  7. Maintains space and furniture/equipment inventories.
  8. Reviews and recommends space standards.
  9. All other duties as assigned.
CERTIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

Preferred Certified Facility Manager or Certified Building Manager.

MINIMUM EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree in technical area such as architecture, engineering or related field.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

Eight years experience in building management and construction, preferably in a state-supported institution of health sciences higher education.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Exerts up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount frequently to move objects.
