POSITION SUMMARY:
Manages several key accounting
functions and teams, including System and Account Assurance team (general
ledger), Cash Management and treasury functions, the institution’s contracting
function and fiscal compliance.
POSITION KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Oversees the management of the
institution’s general ledger, which is the fundamental mechanism for the
recording of all accounting and financial information.

Manages Human Resources activities
for direct reports in regards to: recruiting and selection, hiring and
termination, training, professional development, mentoring, counseling,
performance evaluations, and salary planning.

Acts as the key interface for
school and other operating unit personnel for monthly and annual financial
close and related issues.

Oversees the institution’s cash
controls and treasury functions.

Develops and maintains the institution’s
system of internal financial controls for annual operating costs.

Acts as the key resource responsible
for emerging and expanding UT System-mandated fiscal compliance role.

Oversees the process for business
review of contracts. Assures all institutional contracts presented to CFO
meet detailed requirements, including institutional "full cost recovery."

Acts as the key advisor to the
AVP of Financial Resources, the CFO and Chief Operating Officer on a wide
range of fiscal and business issues.

Acts as a critical interface
for the CFO on the PeopleSoft FMS project, a major module of which entails
a complete re-write of the institution’s general ledger.

Interfaces with the manager
of the clinical practice plan financial reporting, analysis, oversight
and control. Works closely with DMOs, Associate Deans, and other key administrative
/ fiscal officers of operating units.

Performs other duties as assigned.
CERTIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
CPA certification preferred.
MINIMUM EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
required, Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) preferred.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
Seven years of progressively
more responsible accounting, finance, audit and related work activities.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Exerts up to 10 pounds of
force occasionally and/or a negligible amount frequently to move objects.
