POSITION SUMMARY:

Accountable for the overall planning, implementation, evaluation, and coordination of the administrative and financial activities for the Continuing Medical Education program.

POSITION KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. Coordinates programs for primary care physicians, targeted medical specialist and multidisciplinary groups determined by the content of the program to ensure the Medical School mission by enhancing the physician’s ability to provide efficient/effective health, which meet the evolving health needs of our society.
  2. Oversees educational/informational programs addressing major health care problems identified by needs assessments and/or disseminates information developed through research.
  3. Seeks to increase program effectiveness and efficiency through alliances with leading institutions, associations, and organizations and engages in selective joint sponsorship with those groups who share a common mission or educational objective.
  4. Provides a forum for the discussion of new advances in medicine and for the thorough examination of health care issues.
  5. Promotes the innovative use of informational and instructional communications technologies in all formats including meetings, workshops, teleconferences, seminars, and enduring materials. Utilizes instructional mediums that best match the program material including live conferences, audio and video teleconferences, hands-on laboratory training and educing materials including the incorporation of the use of the Internet.
  6. Manages Human Resources activities of department in regards to: recruiting, selection, hiring, termination, training, professional development, mentoring, counseling, performance evaluation and salary planning.
  7. Responsible for the design, execution and effectiveness of a system of internal controls which provides reasonable assurance that operations are effective and efficient, assets are safeguarded, financial information is reliable, and applicable laws, policies and procedures are complied with.


CERTIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
 

MINIMUM EDUCATION:

Master’s degree in business administration, public administration, or health care administration.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

Five years of related experience.
