POSITION SUMMARY:

Accountable for the student-related support services and activities in School of Nursing, which include: records management, admissions and academic counseling, recruitment, admissions, orientation, registration, student data retrieval and analysis, student organizations, scholarships, NCLEX-RN and advanced nursing practice licensure and certification applications, and graduation services.

POSITION KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. Assists in annual budget development, approves expenditures, oversees deposits, and ensures that University fiscal policies are followed.
  2. Administers all admissions activities which includes processing applications, preparing electronic applicant files, evaluating transcripts and course requirements, and scheduling admission interviews. Notifies applicants of the decisions and maintains records of acceptance, withdrawal and rejection.
  3. Develops, implements and evaluates the effectiveness of the school’s Recruitment Plan and Recruitment Budget and oversees the development of reports submitted to the UT System.
  4. Manages the student information database, which includes links regarding admissions information, course descriptions, and program information for the degree programs. Oversees the maintenance of the information contained in these areas to assure the integrity and accuracy of the data.
  5. Oversees the structure by which student records are maintained to ensure compliance with regulations, policies and procedures regarding maintenance and storage of student records.
  6. Produces the School catalog, recruitment brochures, admissions materials, and recruitment materials.
  7. Oversees the preparation of NCLEX-RN licensure paperwork and Advanced Practice licensure and certification paperwork.
  8. Coordinates the graduation ceremony, awards ceremony, and verifies students for graduation.
  9. Prepares statistical reports for various state and federal agencies.
  10. Manages Human Resources activities of department in regards to: recruiting and selecting, hiring and termination, training, professional development, mentoring, counseling, performance evaluations, and salary planning.
  11. Responsible for the design, execution and effectiveness of a system of internal controls which provides reasonable assurance that operations are effective and efficient, assets are safeguarded, financial information is reliable, and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
  12. Performs other duties as assigned.
CERTIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
  1. Strong project management skills, interpersonal and problem solving skills.
  2. Good working knowledge of management information systems, word processing, database and spreadsheet applications required.
MINIMUM EDUCATION:

Baccalaureate degree or its equivalent.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

Five years of related experience in academic affairs and/or Registrar/Admissions functions. Must have five years of supervisory experience, which can be included in the experience stated above.
