POSITION SUMMARY:
Provides professional counsel
and assistance to the President and Executive Vice Presidents in leading
and facilitating institutional strategic, operational and other planning
and priority setting which culminates in institutional resource allocation
processes; creates and prepares institutional planning documents; conducts
and maintains institutional data gathering; leads and facilitates task
force and similar efforts arising from strategic planning; produces institutional
studies; and provides analytical and editorial services as needed.
POSITION KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Prepares the institution’s strategic
plan(s) to assure that State laws and regental mandates are fulfilled and
institutional needs are met.

Facilitates institutional operating
plans to assure that institutional mandates are fulfilled, that unit priorities
are considered by executive administration, and priorities are widely known
and understood.

Participate in planning, resource
allocation, institutional budgeting and institutional management effectiveness
processes as required ensuring that the University Planning Goals are achieved.

Collects, analyzes, and reports
data regarding specific topics to assist the decision making process of
the UTSC Administration.

Participates in a variety of
task forces, committees, etc. for the purposes of information development,
sharing and maintenance to assure the availability of institutional effectiveness
data.

Maintains the institution's
official policy and procedure document, the Handbook of Operating Procedures,
to ensure that Health Science Center Policies are comprehensive and comply
with relevant regental mandates, state laws, executive orders, or other
compliance requirements.

Manages Human Resources activities
for direct reports in regards to: recruiting and selection, hiring and
termination, training, professional development, mentoring, counseling,
performance evaluations, and salary planning.

Responsible for the design,
execution and effectiveness of a system of internal controls which provides
reasonable assurance that operations are effective and efficient, assets
are safeguarded, financial information is reliable and compliant with applicable
laws, regulations, policies and procedures.

Performs other duties as assigned.
CERTIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
MINIMUM EDUCATION:
Masters or Doctoral degree
in a pertinent field
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
10 years of experience in
academic or health related planning
