POSITION SUMMARY:
Serves as the Chief Business
Officer for the Institute of Molecular Medicine, accountable for the overall
planning, implementation, evaluation, and coordination of the institute’s
administrative and financial activities.
POSITION KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Coordinates the Institute’s
business management activities, which include fiscal management, personnel
management, space management, and liaison activities.

Prepares cost studies and management
fiscal reports; monitors expenditures against the budget. Fund sources
for the budget include those derived from state, contract, grant and gift
funds.

Coordinates renovations and
implements a plan to ensure the optimal utilization of all IMM facilities.
As a component of this plan, develops and implements a frequent, regularly
scheduled update of departmental equipment and space inventories.

Serves as the primary liaison
for business activities within the Institute, between departments within
the Medical School, between the departments and the Health Science Center
business areas, and between the departments and business related entities
external to the Health Science Center.

Develops professional relationships
with his/her peers, superiors, subordinates, and with Health Science Center
service oriented departments including Purchasing, Contracts & Grants,
Human Resources, Budget, Payroll, MSRDP, Data Processing, Accounting, and
Physical Plant. Also develops external contacts including administrators
at other medical/academic institutions at the local, state, and national
levels; outside vendors; and researchers outside the Health Science Center.

Manages Human Resources activities
of the IMM in regards to: recruiting and selection, hiring and termination,
training, professional development, mentoring, counseling, performance
evaluations, and salary planning.

Responsible for the design,
execution and effectiveness of a system of internal controls which provides
reasonable assurance that operations are effective and efficient, assets
are safeguarded, financial information is reliable, and compliance with
applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures.

Performs other duties as assigned.
CERTIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
MINIMUM EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in a related
field or its equivalent.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
Five years of relevant experience.
