POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for the development
and public relations activities of the SON working in cooperation with
the Development and Public Affairs offices. These responsibilities include
the activities of PARTNERS, the community support group of the SON, the
alumni association, and the stewardship functions of the school.
POSITION KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Acts as the primary first line
contact for all students and faculty regarding development and public relations
needs at SON.

Develops and implements activities
in concert with PARTNERS including the following: Nurturing and soliciting
members to increase their gifts; printing and underwriting brochures and
letters for the membership campaign and other related activities.

Plans and executes the Lecture
Series utilizing SON faculty as speakers.

Secures the spring luncheon
speaker and serving as host during event.

Implements the distribution
of donated tickets to the students from PARTNERS members.

Serves as the PARTNERS liaison
for the graduation pinning ceremony; assisting the students with planning
related activities; and for expenditure of scholarship funds.

Coordinates the PARTNERS faculty
grants proposal process, grant selection and distribution of funds.

Keeps PARTNERS membership database
updated.

Coordinates alumni activities
including drives, activities, publications and maintains alumni database.

Coordinates stewardship activities
and events.

Coordinates Public Relations
activities and events for school.

Manages Human Resources activities
of department in regards to: recruiting and selecting, hiring and termination,
training, professional development, mentoring, counseling, performance
evaluations, and salary planning.

Responsible for the design,
execution and effectiveness of a system of internal controls which provides
reasonable assurance that operations are effective and efficient, assets
are safeguarded, financial information is reliable, and compliance with
applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures.

Performs other duties as assigned.
CERTIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
Ability to work independently
with minimal guidance.
MINIMUM EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree or its
equivalent.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
Eight years of professional
experience in areas compatible with development and public relations.
