POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for the overall
management of four (4) support services in the Dental School: Dental Instrument
Rental Program; Educational Support Service; Linen Services; and, Dental
Branch Bookstore.
POSITION KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Provider for the operation of
the Dental Instrument Rental Program with the following duties: identification
of instruments for rental; orders equipment for the rental program; performs
property identification; issues instruments and kits; maintains and replaces
rental equipment and instruments; performs record keeping for student rental
kits; coordinates annual re-verification of instruments and assess charges
for lost, damaged or broken instruments; and coordinates the annual issuance,
retrieval, inventory, and assessment of charges for student losses (i.e..,
damaged of lost instruments, kits, etc.)

Oversees the issuance and rental
of audiovisual equipment, models, slides, microfiche, tapes and other educational
aides in Educational Support Services. This includes ordering, receiving,
maintaining and storing materials for both students and faculty and assessing
charges for lost or damaged items.

Oversees the Dental Branch’s
linen services, which includes issuance and retrieval of laundry; preparing
soiled laundry for pickup and maintaining a user index.

Assists in researching and purchasing
equipment, preparing accurate records, and assembling items into kits for
retail sale to students for the Dental Branch Bookstore. In addition, co-supervises
monthly, quarterly, and annual sales reports.

Interacts with vendors and other
outside contacts.

Manages Human Resources activities
of the department in regards to: recruiting and selection, hiring and termination,
training, professional development, mentoring, counseling, performance
evaluations, and salary planning.

Responsible for the design,
execution and effectiveness of a system of internal controls which provides
reasonable assurance that operations are effective and efficient, assets
are safeguarded, financial information is reliable, and compliance with
applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures.

Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s Degree in Basic
Sciences, a minor in Business Management or its equivalent.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
Four years of related experience.
