POSITION SUMMARY:
Manages the mail services
for UT-Houston and UT MD Anderson.
POSITION KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Analyzes the flow of mail and
designs or modifies different mail routes as the organizational and physical
structure of the two institutions changes.

Reviews equipment usage and
ensures maintenance of the various types of machines.

Recommends the acquisition of
new equipment as necessary and performs the research to present the cost
of the new equipment as well as how it will improve the division's cost
effectiveness or efficiency.

Reviews departmental production
and services and updates as necessary.

Monitors the computerized system
that compiles the various charges to be billed to the service community.
Reviews the charges on a periodic basis to ensure their accuracy and determines
the procedures for billing such as the cut-off dates, dates for entering
the data into the University's billing system (TUFIMS), etc. Interfaces
with the service community on any discrepancies in the billing.

Develops and submits for review
and approval, an annual departmental budget and is responsible for the
department's performance against the approved budget.

Prepares and submits monthly,
quarterly and annual financial reports for review and to verify the department's
performance and accomplishments against established goals and objectives.

Maintains the cost-of-goods
sold revolving account. This account encompasses items sold to the service
community such as postage for meters, bulk mailing charges, postage due,
postage stamps, etc., and is reconciled on a monthly basis.

Manages Human Resources activities
of department in regards to: recruiting and selection, hiring and termination,
training, professional development, mentoring, counseling, performance
evaluations, and salary planning.

Responsible for the design,
execution and effectiveness of a system of internal controls which provides
reasonable assurance that operations are effective and efficient, assets
are safeguarded, financial information is reliable, and compliance with
applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures.

Performs other duties as assigned.
CERTIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
Prior supervisory skills
and good communications skills.
MINIMUM EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in Business
or its equivalent.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
Three to four years related
work experience in the area of postal rules and regulations.
