Support Specialists, Telecommunication System Specialists, and Telecommunication

POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for planning and coordinating
the acquisition of telecommunication service and equipment, management
of the office staff and the billing and collection functions of telecommunications.
POSITION KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Coordinates activities of staff and technicians
in sequencing moves, additions, and changes to telephone service and equipment.

Recommends equipment/service/methods of
operation.

Coordinates the acquisition and installation
of new services and equipment to include specifications, review of bids
and verification of equipment, and services.

Monitors programming information and system
back-ups on all University communication systems.

Coordinates the repair of telephone service
and equipment.

Coordinates database management, client
billing, distribution of client statements for local service and equipment,
long distance and cellular charges and works to resolve billing discrepancies.

Develops and maintains long range plans
and budgets for telecommunication services.

Coordinates the publication of the Institutional
Telephone Directory and various other directories.

Keeps abreast of new developments in the
field.

Manages Human Resources activities of
area of responsibility in regards to: recruiting and selection, hiring
and termination, training, professional development, mentoring, counseling,
performance evaluations, and salary planning.

Responsible for the design, execution
and effectiveness of a system of internal controls which provides reasonable
assurance that operations are effective and efficient, assets are safeguarded,
financial information is reliable and compliant with applicable laws, regulations,
policies and procedures.

Performs other duties as assigned.
CERTIFICATIONS/SKILLS
MINIMUM EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
5 years experience in management of
communication, equipment design and traffic engineering.
