POSITION SUMMARY:

Provides administrative oversight and direction to a broad scope of hospital strategic and operational activities including the following departments: strategic planning, marketing; facilities and support services, and centralized data management.

POSITION KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. Provides overall direction and oversight for designated areas. 
  2. Formulates and recommends strategies and plans in response to the community and University needs.
  3. Participates in management at the senior level and works with the Administrator, assistant administrator, directors, medical director, medical staff leadership, and the Executive Director to oversee the functioning of the hospital and plan for the future in patient care, education, research, and community relations areas. 
  4. Oversees preparation of planning documents in accordance with state and local requirements, directs center legislative appropriations requests, and coordinates with other agencies in the planning area, as well as working with internal HCPC plans.
  5. Directs the preparation of budgets in accordance with budget instructions and allocation of funds, including the monitoring of the accuracy and the reliability of financial data, studies of cost, review of budget estimates, familiarity of operations and discussion with the administrative staff.
  6. Prepares reports for the Executive Director and attends meetings regarding the total activities of HCPC and reviews and acts upon the reports of authorized agencies. 
  7. Assures changes as necessary to ensure conformance of HCPC operating procedures with the requirements of the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals Organization (JCAHO) standards and any applicable regulatory agencies.
  8. Participates in, mentors and/or leads committees, special projects and teams as designated by the Executive Director, the Administrator, and/or the senior team.
  9. Manages Human Resources activities of the IMM in regards to: recruiting and selection, hiring and termination, training, professional development, mentoring, counseling, performance evaluations, and salary planning.
  10. Responsible for the design, execution and effectiveness of a system of internal controls which provides reasonable assurance that operations are effective and efficient, assets are safeguarded, financial information is reliable, and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
  11. Performs other duties as assigned.
CERTIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

Must possess exceptional interpersonal and technical skills.

MINIMUM EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree in health or business related field or its equivalent.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

Five years of directly related experience in a management capacity, preferably in psychiatric treatment and academic health care environment.
