As of September 30, 2002, UT-Houston employed 1,198 faculty, 116 Academic Administrative & Professional (A&P), 151 Management A&P and 3,532 classified staff, for a grand total of 4,997.

The data obtained for the majority of employee tables in this year’s Fact Book use the Query reporting tool to access the PeopleSoft HRMS database. Because Query is still relatively new and continues to have some limitations for reporting this data, there is a minimal chance that the numbers are slightly higher or lower than anticipated.

The faculty tables and charts in this section include full- and part-time faculty as of September 30, 2002. Some faculty hold A&P appointments as well as faculty appointments. In these instances, the A&P appointment is usually considered their primary appointment. As such, the numbers reflected in the faculty tables are totals of faculty members without a primary A&P appointment.

Below is a breakout of the numbers of academic A&P who also have a faculty appointment.
