CRU 101 sessions: The Clinical Research Unit (CRU) will hold its first of a series of CRU 101 sessions on Wednesday, January 17, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. at the Medical School, MSB 1.006. Formerly the University Clinical Research Center (UCRC), the CRU is one of the components of the recently formed Center for Clinical & Translational Sciences (CCTS), funded as the Clinical & Translational Sciences Award (CTSA) by the National Institutes of Health. The purpose of the sessions will be to acquaint investigators and study coordinators with the services available to support clinical research in the CRU at Memorial Hermann Hospital and in Valley Baptist Regional Hospital in Brownsville, Texas. (Oct. 3, 2006)—The National Institutes of Health (NIH) awarded The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston a $36-million, five-year grant to enhance clinical and translational research, ultimately improving patient care and community health. |

The GCRC five year grant has been renewed, the GCRC five year grant has been renewed for five more years, the grant runs thru the year 2011.
