Sharon
T. Morgan, Ph.D.,
assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral
Sciences at The University of Texas Medical School at Houston,
joined the UTHCPC medical staff as Staff Psychologist in 1991.
She received her bachelor's degree in biology from Spelman
College in 1971 and her master's in psychology from Georgia
State University in 1976. She received her doctorate degree
in psychology from The Florida State University in 1991. Morgan
completed an internship in clinical psychology at the University
of Texas Medical School at Houston Department of Psychiatry
and Behavioral Sciences in 1991 and pursued her post-internship
training in child psychotherapy and psychological assessment
at the UT- Medical School at Houston as well.
Morgan is a member of the American Psychological Association
and the Texas Psychological Association and, in 1996, served
on the TPA's Task Force on Ethnic Issues in Mental Health
She serves on a variety of medical school committees, including
as an adjunct interviewer for the UT Medical School at Houston
Admissions Committee. Morgan also has shared her professional
expertise with the community, serving as narrator for several
videotaped segments on mental health issues that aired on
KUHT-TV Channel 13.
