Introduction |
Registered Nurses and Licensed Vocational Nurses are required to keep their licenses current while working at HCPC. Licensure information is maintained on the ANSOS automated system to track compliance. |

Data Gathering |
At the time of hire the Nurse Manager or Nursing Supervisor: · Verifies that the employee has a licensure card or proof of license renewal · Verification is made by proof of license renewal or may be assessed on-line via licensing body. |

Reporting Compliance |
The Nursing Administration designee: · Generates a monthly ANSOS report of employees who need to renew license for the upcoming month · Sends e-mail messages to affected employees, and the appropriate Nurse Manager, that they need to submit proof of license renewal to Nursing Administration · Reminds affected employees that they will not be allowed to work if proof of licensure renewal is not submitted by the last documented expiration date. · Updates the ANSOS database each month to reflect changes in licensure information |

Results of non-compliance |
Employees are subject to disciplinary action and suspension for a 5-day minimum or until such time license renewal is verified and employee may be terminated. |
