Policy:

It is the policy of UTHCPC to offer on call pay for specific shifts/hours that are declared "high need" by the dept director.

1. The Dept director or designee may designate selected shifts or hours in which on call pay is considered appropriate.
2. Those staff members who are interested in being available on an on call basis are to notify the staffing office.
3. Staff members who receive on call pay are expected to come in to work when called in during the period for which they are being reimbursed. They are expected to arrive to work within 30-45 minutes of the time called.
4. The rate for on call pay is as follows:
   Psych tech 2.00/hr
   RN/LVN 3.50/hr
5. Person receiving on-call pay is to get it pre-approved by a supervisor. Documentation of pre-approval is to occur using the edit form.
6. Payment for on call pay will occur in the same manner as overtime pay.
