As a security-sensitive institution, UTHCPC requires criminal background checks for all new employees prior to any job offers.
The following persons must successfully pass the security-sensitive check in order to be employed in any area at UTHCPC:

This table describes the UTHCPC employee criminal background check process:

1 |
Human Resources submits a security check request to the UT Police on all UTHCPC employees and volunteers upon acceptance of position. |
2 |
UT Police completes security check. |
3 |
UT Police notifies the university’s main Human Resources (HR) & HCPC Recruiter of any risk issues within 2-4 days after request of the background check |

HCPC Recruiter notifies the UTHCPC Director of Personnel Systems Management when such a risk exists. |
5 |
If risk has been determined, the hiring manager is notified by the HCPC Recruiter then HCPC Recruiter contacts the candidate and rescinds the job offer. If no risk has been determined, the HCPC Recruiter notes clearance has been given by UT Police. |
