Idea proposal

Include the following information with you submit a proposed idea:

Purpose of event

Proposed date, time, and location

Target audience

Suggested speakers and reasons for selecting these speakers

Ancillary support requested

CEU request

Cost

Source of funding

Approval process

This table describes the approval process for other events and seminars:

Stage

Description

1

The originating party discusses the idea with his/her immediate supervisor.

2

The originating party and his/her supervisor submit the proposed idea to the Director, HWE designated to facilitate educational activities.

3

The Director, HWE reviews the proposal.

The Director, HWE uses this table to determine what happens next:

THEN the Director,HWE...

Approves the proposal

Recommends the event to the Administrator

Denies the proposal

Returns the proposal to the originating party with reasons for denial and/or suggestions for changes. The process is complete.

The Administrator reviews the proposal.

The Administrator uses this table to determine what happens next:

THEN the Director, HWE returns the ...

Approves the proposal

Approved idea to the originating party.

Denies the proposal

Proposal to the originating party with reasons for denial and/or suggestions for change.

Planning process

This table describes the process for planning an event or seminar:

Stage

Description

1

The originating party obtains an event/seminar checklist from the PIE Department, fills it out, and submits it to PIE.

2

The PIE Department coordinates appropriate publicity for the event/seminar.

3

The originating party plans and coordinates all aspects of the event/seminar using the event checklist.

The originating party uses this table to determine what happens next:

IF UTHCPC...

THEN the originating party...

Offers continuing education credits for the event/seminar

 

Works with the Director, HWE as requested.

Does not offer continuing education credits for the event/seminar

Continues with Stage 5.

5

The originating party submits a final report to the Director HWE upon completion of the event/seminar.
