This topic provides information about on-site filming, photography, and interviews
of UTHCPC patients, personnel, and facilities. Photographic equipment, including cameras, cell phone cameras, video cameras, or other equipment, including tape recorders of any kind must be approved for the use by Public Information or Administration.
The Public Information and Education (PIE) department or Administration must approve requests for photographs, interviews, or filming of any of the following:

The PIE department considers the safety, rights, and confidentiality of all UTHCPC patients and personnel when deciding what the media or individuals may and may not photograph, film, or record at UTHCPC.
This table lists what kinds of consent the PIE department must have on file prior to interview, photograph, and/or film:
Note: It is PIE policy not to use involuntary patients for interviewing, photography, or filming.

A PIE representative accompanies all on-site media, film and photography crews or persons at all times.
The PIE representative has the right to stop an interview or photographing should the patient or personnel request its discontinuance.
The PIE department must notify the following before an interview occurs on a unit:

HCPI and Probate Court spokespersons at the UTHCPC site should inform the PIE department at 741-7878 when they make an appointment for a media interview on-site.
