This topic provides information about accepting and acknowledging monetary gifts.

Fundraising

General Fundraising
The Public Information and Education (PIE) department coordinates all fundraising activities at UTHCPC with the approval of the Administrator and Executive Director.

Major capital fundraising and grant requests
The UT-Houston Development Office coordinates major capital fundraising and grant requests from foundations.

Solicitation

The Volunteer Coordinator solicits cash contributions from the community on behalf of UTHCPC's patients.

Monetary gift acceptance

This table lists who may accept monetary gifts on behalf of UTHCPC:

This table describes the process for accepting and reporting monetary gifts of $25,000 or less:

Person accepting the gift makes two copies of the following:

Cash

Original correspondence

Original envelope

Volunteer Services receipt

Person accepting the gift gives items listed in Stage 1 to the Patient Account Services office UTHCPC room 1C01 at 741-3881 within 24-hours of receipt:

The Patient Account Services staff deposits the gift into a gift account administered by the Volunteer Services department.

Person accepting the gift gives one set of the copies made in Stage 1 to each of the following:

Volunteer Services department

UT-Houston Development Office

The Volunteer Service department files the information.

UTHCPC Administrative Services submits a report of the gifts received in the amount of $25,000 or less to the following each month:

Administrator

Executive Director

The Volunteer Services department submits a report of the gifts received in the amount of $25,000 or less to the following each quarter:

Gift acknowledgment system

The following people work together to inform donors of the receipt and use of their gifts:
