Operator

UTHCPC vehicle operators must observe the following guidelines:

Responsibility

Safety

Wear safety belts while operating the vehicle

Use reasonable care while operating and maintaining the vehicle

Secure and lock the vehicle when you leave it

Report vehicle malfunction or maintenance needs to Transportation/Courier Services and note the same in the Transportation Log

Legal

Obey all local, state, and federal laws when operating the vehicle

Have your valid Texas Department of Public Safety Class C driver's license in your possession while operating the vehicle

In-house

Limit your use of the vehicle to official UTHCPC business only

Complete the Transportation Log when you return the vehicle

Department of Support Services

The Department of Support Services has the following responsibilities for UTHCPC vehicles:

Ensure that each vehicle assigned to the department has:

An insurance packet that includes a copy of the legislation that exempts the State of Texas motor vehicles from carrying proof of liability insurance

A completed Transportation Log

Current stickers

Follow a scheduled maintenance program for each vehicle based on the manufacturer's suggested maintenance schedule

Maintain records of the scheduled maintenance program for each vehicle

Maintain a Safety Inspection Sticker/Propane Sticker Log
