Responsibilities
The Infection Control Committee has the following responsibilities:

 | Define the authority of the Infection Control Plan in writing

 | Obtain approval from the administration and medical staff for the Infection Control Plan
|
 | Determine and describe, in the form of policies and procedures, the type of surveillance necessary to prevent and/or control infections in hospital staff and patients
|
 | Determine policies, procedures, materials, and/or equipment necessary to mitigate disease transmission within the facility
|
 | Monitor the results of surveillance
|
 | Report all infection control concerns to the Performance Improvement Council |

The Infection Control Committee determines the reporting mechanisms for the following:
