This topic provides guidelines for disposing of resuscitation masks with airways
and non-rebreathing valves after use.
The nursing staff member follows these steps to dispose of a used resuscitation mask with airways and non-rebreathing valve:

Remove the mask and accessories from the patient. |

Dispose of the mask and accessories in the red bag. |

Remove the disposable rubber gloves. |

Discard the used gloves in the same red bag. |

Wash hands after removing gloves. |
