



Food Brought to Patients from Outside UTHCPC

Patients may receive food from outside the hospital under conditions described below.
Visitors
Visitors may bring food to the hospital for designated patients during visiting hours (exception may be made on an individual basis). Food brought in must be consumed during the visiting hours to eliminate the need for storage and the infection control risk.
Storage
Food may not be stored in patient rooms due to problems such as insects and infection control.
Patients
Patients may order food from outside the hospital only if it can be accomplished as a group endeavor and sufficient patient money is available.
