Free Meal Policy

Purpose:

To provide guidelines for free meals
To ensure compliance with guidelines

Policy:

Meal Tickets will be provided to employees for free meals
Free meals will be provided to on call residents.
Free meals may also be provided to staff who work on Christmas Day and Thanksgiving
Day, during disasters, or other special events (prizes).

 

Types of Free Meals :

A breakfast meal will consist of one meat, one cereal (hot or cold), egg, toast, one drink (milk, water, coffee, or juice) and one fruit.
 
A lunch or dinner meal will consist of one entrée, two vegetables, one drink and one dessert. The entrée and two vegetables may be substituted for a chef salad or sandwich, one drink and one dessert.

 

Procedure:

A free meal will be provided to residents who are assigned to work on call.
Employees who work on Christmas Day and Thanksgiving Day and/or during disasters will be provided free meals.
Free meals may also be given to employees for special prizes or awards.
The Medical Executive Assistants will provide meal tickets to the residents on call.
Administration will provide meal tickets to departmental managers or designee to be issued to their employees
All employees must present their identification badge and give their meal ticket to the cashier for free meal/s.
Employees who are awarded free meals as prizes must give their meal ticket or award certificate to the cashier.
The dietary department will keep a log of all free meals for accounting purposes
