The
Medical Director must approve all requests for Brain Imaging Studies
Diagnostic testing is available to patients at UTHCPC. The physician determines which tests the patient needs and then initiates a relevant physician's order following the above approval.
Upon requests for various brain imaging scan (CT, MR, SPECT), the following forms must be completed:

The attending physician and unit nurse complete the required forms. |

The unit staff forwards the request to the Medical Director. |
3 |
The Medical Director approves/disapproves, based on documented medical necessity, and the form is returned to the unit. |
