Storage requirements

Method of dose preparation and administration

Precautions

Authorized prescribers

Patient monitoring guidelines

Other material pertinent to the safe and proper use of the drug

Tasks

This table describes the nurse's tasks toward administering the investigational drug to the patient:

Makes sure that the data sheet includes the needed information

Verifies that the investigator has included the original or a copy of the informed consent form

3

Sends the Physician's Order to the pharmacy for preparation and labeling

4

Reconciles drugs obtained from the pharmacy with the Physician's Order on the chart

5

Administers the drug to the patient as prescribed by the physician unless the drug is restricted to physician administration only
