Operations Responsibility During Administrator's Absence

UTHCPC has established the organizational responsibility for operations when the administrator is absent.

Coverage

When the hospital administrator is away from UTHCPC on a scheduled absence, one of the hospital Administrators/Directors provides coverage.

Notice of absence

The appropriate departments receive notice of the hospital administrator's absence and the designee for the period prior to the departure date in order to facilitate scheduling requirements.

Authority to intervene

With consultation as appropriate, the following individuals in descending order depending on their presence at UTHCPC have the authority to intervene in all hospital activities whenever conditions pose an immediate threat to life or health, or threaten damage to equipment or buildings:

Administrator on-call or Director

Night supervisor

Director of Facilities Management
