Mapping Shared Drives using Samba in Windows XP/2000

Right click on the My Network Places icon on your Windows desktop, and select Map Network Drive...

In the following Window, you can keep the default drive letter that appears or choose another from the pull down list.

In the Folder box, enter the OAC web server path:  \\oac.hsc.uth.tmc.edu\www

Make sure that the Reconnect at Logon box is checked, then click the link labeled different user name.

In the box that appears, enter your logon (UT UID) and password. Click OK here to close it, then click the Finish buton on the Map Network Drive window to close that.

Windows will now attempt to connect to the OAC server. If it is successful, an Explorer window  will open displaying the web server's root directory.

Now you need only to drill down to your folder and begin publishing by dragging and dropping files from your computer into the correct folder on the server. Click here for more information on publishing with Windows Explorer.
